Isn’t it Lovely When We Allow Ourselves to Grieve? Special Guest: Megan Bartel

TW: This episode discusses infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss.

“Your own grief is your grief. And so give yourself grace, give yourself permission. But intentionally take steps to make your life be as beautiful as it should be.”

Tracy and Rachel spend a morning listening to the incredible life story of Megan Bartel. Rachel passes around tissues; Tracy uses the term “high lows” and realizes she needs speech lessons. Megan discusses how she survived childhood cancer, as well as her grief process after the loss of her baby boy Briar Steven just weeks before he was due to be born. Megan provides amazing insight into both navigating grief and supporting others in their grief. Everyone fangirls over Brené Brown and hopes she is listening.

Being vulnerable, gripping on to hope, and sharing her struggles has helped her truly understand the gift of life but is honest that it isn’t always rainbows and sunshine. Sitting in the dark has helped her understand her greater purpose and seek out the sunshine moments given each and every day.
